Hampton School, Mechanical Refurbishment of classrooms, London
Complete refurbishment and renovation of existing classrooms and mechanical installation for new building.
Works included overhaul of plantroom and heating and domestic services that it serves.
Each classroom was served with LTHW radiant panel that provides heated space to learn. Newly installed ductwork provided fresh air and an air change rate served by large Air Handling Units situated on the roof.
The new building, ‘Pod’ was situated in an obsolete space and will be a state of the art learning environment. Exposed services at ceiling level were painted in colours that promote concentration, focus and relaxation.
Studies into the air quality, thermal overheat reports; energy assessments and an extensive 3D Revit model were undertaken to ensure we delivered an energy efficient solution that keeps running costs to a minimum.
A state of the art atrium was built external to the POD showcasing a ‘living wall’ sustaining plant life which was watered using waste water from a drinking fountain. The installation included underfloor heating and high level ductwork providing air changes necessary to provide a comfortable environment.
